The Season of Giving
Posted by Joanna on December 12, 2019
The season of giving is upon us and I am grateful that the ASM community exemplifies this spirit in so many ways! Community service projects have been led by our parents, students, and faculty and staff. Our generosity will benefit those in need whether they are the recipient of a holiday toy or a warm coat.
I am proud of our community for sharing with those less fortunate than ourselves. ASM’s vision and core values aim to provide our students with opportunities to positively impact others in the community and to respect diversity. Service to others fosters empathy and enables our children to have a greater understanding of the world beyond them.
Our projects so far this year:
Bridges Memory Care Facility Middle School host and entertain residents
ASM Community-Wide Service Middle School student volunteers
Bread and Roses – Mitten Tree 71 mittens/hats donated
Lazarus House – Project Bethlehem 230 gifts for 60 people
On The Rise 100 beautiful hand-made cards
Coats for Kids 125 coats so far toward our goal of 200
Coming up in January, there will be another opportunity to make a profound and life-altering difference in someone’s life. Please mark your calendars for January 2 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. when ASM will sponsor a blood drive for the American Red Cross. Help us to spread the word!
I feel inspired by the ASM community and its generosity. Thank you for being wonderful role models to our children!
