The Many Faces of Social Media Bullying
Posted by Joanna on November 6, 2015
How do you teach your child to be safe on-line? How do you know if your child is being bullied? Could your child be a bully? As parents and educators, our children are counting on us to answer these questions.
I am thrilled and honored to announce that Dr. Elizabeth Englander, a nationally-recognized expert on bullying, cyber-bullying and the impact of social media on children, will be speaking at our upcoming Parent Education event. Dr. Englander, a professor of Psychology at Bridgewater State College, is the founder and director of the Massachusetts Aggression Reduction Center (MARC) which delivers anti-violence and anti-bullying programs, resources, and research for the state of Massachusetts. She works with schools, parents and students on bullying as well as, aggression and violence, social success, and success online. Elizabeth Englander is a well-known author of books, articles and research papers, and has been interviewed by NPR and the New York Times.
Dr. Englander is a highly engaging speaker and this is an event I strongly recommend for parents of Children House to Middle School students. Dr. Englander invites your questions/concerns which she will include in her discussion. Bring your friends, neighbors and colleagues to learn how you can support your child as they navigate the complex social landscape and their on-line presence.
Please join us at 6:30 p.m. on November 18th in the American Room. Click here for more information on Dr. Englander.
