End-of-Year Celebrations

Posted by Joanna on June 6, 2019

Where has the time gone? The cool, damp weather may have something to do with my sense of disbelief – it doesn’t seem possible that the end of the school year will be upon us next week. Our community is bursting with energy and excitement as we prepare for the many end-of-year celebrations! Field trips, Field Day, speech writing, singing and the Ice-Cream Social are all part of the fun. Although there are many events on our calendar, I’d like to point out some that are noteworthy for our students.

K – 8 Portfolio Presentations: Friday June 7, 2:15 p.m.

I invite you to view student work at Portfolio Presentations on Friday, June 7. Students in kindergarten through middle school are looking forward to sharing progress they have made over the course of the year. Portfolios will be on display throughout the building and I encourage you to visit students in all program levels.

Middle School Graduation: Thursday June 13, 6:00 p.m.

We are honored to present the Class of 2019, graduating on June 13 at 6:00 p.m. Our eighth year students anticipate this bittersweet milestone with both happiness and a bit of nervousness! I know that our soon-to-be high school students are ready for their next steps and I am looking forward to congratulating each of them for their accomplishments with our community.

Moving Up Ceremonies: Friday June 14

Kindergarten – 10:00 a.m.

Third and Sixth Year Elementary – 1:00 p.m.

Moving Up Ceremonies for kindergarteners and elementary third and sixth years will take place on Friday June 14 at 10:00 and 1:00 respectively. A Montessori right-of-passage, moving up gives us the opportunity to recognize our students’ personal and academic achievements as they complete one three-year program cycle and move to the next. It is remarkable that three years have passed so quickly, although not surprising when you witness the how much our students have grown socially, academically and physically!

Please mark your calendars for these important events in the lives of our students. I look forward to celebrating their successes with you!
