Class of 2017: Secondary School Acceptances
Posted by Joanna on March 16, 2017
ASM’s Class of 2017 has every reason to be proud of their achievements! Soon each eighth year student will begin the next step of their journey at one of the area’s excellent public high schools or independent schools.
This year, students applied to a wide-ranging variety of high schools that represent some of the best preparatory schools in New England, and in some cases, the world. Acceptances to these schools is affirmation that our middle school program is robust, challenges our students appropriately and without a doubt prepares them to excel in their next-step school. Last Friday, our students received acceptances to the following secondary schools:
- The Academy at Penguin Hall*
- Austin Preparatory High School
- Boston University Academy
- Commonwealth School
- Gould Academy
- High Mowing School
- Hotchkiss School
- Phillips Academy*
- Pingree School
- John’s Preparatory School*
*Indicates multiple acceptances
I would like to thank all of the teachers who work with our middle school students for their excellent work.
I would also like to thank Mrs. Orlowitz for helping our families to navigate the secondary school process. She cultivates relationships with secondary school admission counselors and provides them with an understanding of ASM’s program. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Mrs. Orlowitz is a strong advocate for our students.
The feedback that Mrs. Orlowitz has received from secondary school admission counselors has been extremely positive! Counselors commend our students for being extremely well prepared both academically and socially. They recognize that ASM provides students with the opportunity to move ahead in areas such as math, which serves to differentiate them in the overall applicant pool.
Whether or not our students will attend a private or public high school, they are to be admired for their accomplishments. I know our students will be successful due to their hard work, love of learning and support of their families!
