ASM’s Science Fair

Posted by Joanna on March 7, 2019

The halls at ASM are brimming with excitement and anticipation! After many weeks of hard work, our students are eager to share the results of their science fair projects with you!

Throughout this endeavor, students acquire a myriad of sophisticated skills beginning with managing their time over the course of several weeks. They conduct research and learn how to apply the scientific method. Students also develop proficiency in being able to organize, analyze and synthesize a large volume of information. Through designing and conducting experiments, they learn to become comfortable making mistakes and understand that they are a part of the scientific process. Finally, communication skills are honed through writing lab reports, creating a visually appealing display board and orally presenting their findings to our community. Our older students will be judged on their projects by a panel of experts and perhaps move on to the State Regional Science Fair.

I sincerely hope you will be able to come and learn from our student scientists! They have chosen so many interesting experiments from sound waves to marine microplastics. The Science Fair takes place from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. tonight. See you there!
