Annual Meeting of Members
Posted by Joanna on May 16, 2019
Thank you to all who attended Tuesday evening’s Annual Meeting. As always, it was wonderful to connect, catch up and highlight our accomplishments over this past school year! If you were unable to attend the event, you can read my Annual Report.
Our board of directors, comprised of volunteers, has the important job of governing the school. Each year, new members are voted on to the board and others leave as their term ends. Parents and other members of the corporation voted to re-elect Director John Zhuang, returning for a 3-year term. John has been a director for the past six years and I want to thank him for his continued service.
It is bittersweet to say farewell to Directors, Tom Walsh and Jane Triano.
Tom held the positions of Clerk and Co-chair of the Strategic Planning Task Force. Tom’s strategic thinking and perspective helped to define our 2018-2023 Strategic Plan. Tom and his family will be relocating at the end of the school year. I will miss Tom, his wife Kelly and their two sons, Joey and Alex, both in Lower Elementary.
Jane has devoted many years of service to ASM including her roles as Spanish teacher, Kindergarten teacher, Co-chair of the Annual Fund and Board President. She is ASM’s longest serving director and I will miss her expertise and institutional knowledge. Jane was the board president during my first year of headship and was an invaluable resource and support to me. I will miss her counsel.
I want to thank all of the directors in advance for committing their time and talent to ASM as we look forward to the next school year!
