Board Bios

 

Karen U. Aznoian – Board member since 2007
Karen chairs the Governance Committee. She has a BS in Psychology and Business from Canisius College, with an MBA pending and is a Certified Integral Coach. Karen worked for over 20 years in Executive HR leadership roles. Most recently, she was the SVP of HR for several companies within the Broadband/Cable Industry for what is now Comcast Corp. She created and is president of Aznoian and Associates, LLC consulting firm, and has consulted and coached over 200 executives worldwide. She also offers several development programs focused on developing women leaders and leads women’s circles of development. Karen’s son attends ASM.

Reason for joining the Board: To lend my leadership experience and skills to ASM for the sake of strengthening the schools mission and purpose. ASM is a community within a community and my intent is to offer support in areas of professional, organizational and policy development for the sustainability of ASM within the community that it serves.

 

Roger Boucher – Board member since 2007
Roger chairs the Development Committee. He holds an AB History, Cum Laude from College of the Holy Cross. Currently he is Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking at Bank of America and has held the position of Senior Vice President in the Healthcare & Institutions Division, specializing in financing for tax-exempt organizations. Roger’s daughter attends ASM.

Reason for joining the Board: To help continue ASM's commitment to excellence within the Montessori tradition. I am also interested in helping ASM achieve its Development goals, which will be vital to the school's health and success in the years ahead.

Anthony Capone – Board member since 2006
Anthony has served on the Finance Committee, Technology Committee and Facilities Committee and as Ombudsperson. He holds a Master’s Degree in the Science of Finance from Bentley College. As Controller and Treasurer at Sentry Auto Group, he is responsible for accounting, finance and human resources for a group of automobile dealerships in the Boston market. His daughter, Bianca, graduated from ASM in 2008 and attends the Pingree School.

Reason for joining the Board: My daughter came to ASM after two difficult years in the public school system. She received a world class education at ASM. The faculty and staff helped her to develop intellectually, socially and emotionally. Serving on the Board allows me to repay part of the debt that our family owes ASM.

 

Thomas S. Caruso – Board member since 2004
Tom has served as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee. He has a degree in Accounting and is a Commercial Banker at Sovereign Bank. Before moving north, Tom’s daughter and son attended ASM. His daughter, graduated from ASM in 2006 and attends the White Mountain School in Bethlehem, NH.

Reason for joining the Board: Strong belief in the Montessori philosophy

 

Lisa Hampton – Board member since 2008
Lisa has been the editor of the ASM Vision Statement and a member of the Marketing and Development Committees. She holds an A.B. Harvard Radcliffe College and an Ed.M. Harvard Graduate School of Education. Lisa has taught English and developing interdisciplinary curriculum at Stoneham High School and middle school speech and drama at Doherty Middle School, Andover. Other areas of interest and expertise include college alumni relations and event planning, law-related education, poetry writing and origami. Lisa’s three daughters attend ASM.

Reason for joining the Board: I wanted to give something back to the school because it has played a critical role in the development of my three daughters and given me a community that feels like family. As a teacher myself, I believe deeply in ASM's mission and method and wish to support the school as it pursues the realization of its vision.

Deborah Hope – Board member since 2008
Debbi has served on the Board of Overseers, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, and was Chairperson of the Carol Barry Cancer Foundation and of the Boston College MBA Alumni Association. ASM involvement includes founding/chairing ASM Golf Tournaments, being a room parent, and working with the Development and Auction Committees. She holds a BA from Stonehill College and MBA from Boston College. Debbi is a partner in the Charles Hope Companies, LLP, a Real Estate Development firm. Debbi’s daughter and son attend ASM.

Reason for joining the Board: I believe that the Women’s Director Development Kellogg Business School Program along with 30 years in financial services give me the tools to make a meaningful contribution to ASM as a Board member.

 

Heather Liddell Lauten – Board member since 2005
Heather has served as Clerk, Chair of the Trustees Committee and President of the Board of Directors. She graduated from Brown University and University of Pittsburgh School of Law. She is Corporate Counsel for Whittier Health Network and was formerly with Riemer & Braunstein in Boston. Heather’s two sons attend ASM.

Reason for joining the Board: My elder son entered Children’s House in the autumn of 2003 and my fascination with ASM began immediately as I watched his development under the extraordinary tutelage of his teachers. I wanted to do my part as a member of the ASM community, and that led me to volunteering as a member of the Board of Directors. I have had the privilege, over the past few years, to work closely with this dedicated group of exceptional people in order to maintain the well-being of the School and advance its long-term vision and strength

 

Lillian Montalto – Board member since 2008
Lillian is on the Development Committee. She brings 30 years of Real Estate experience and a strong commitment to service to her company, Lillian Montalto Signature Properties. She also coaches Real Estate Agents in the United States, Australia and New Zealand in an effort to bring their businesses to a higher level, while assisting them with developing a balanced life plan.

 

Shawne Robinson – Board member since 2007
Shawne chairs the ASM Marketing Committee. He holds an MBA and BS in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley (Haas) and a BS in computer science from Manhattan College. Shawne is a Domino Product Manager for IBM. He also worked for a start-up analytics software company based in the Bay Area and as a software engineer for IBM in NC. Shawne’s two sons attend ASM.

Reason for joining the Board: To help guide the health and vitality of the school and create a winning growth strategy that benefits the school's students, family and staff, and also the surrounding communities. I believe that that the positive influence of ASM's graduates, armed with peace-oriented spirits, enhances our communities

 

Salim Rodriguez Tabit – Board member since 2007
Sal has served as Clerk of the Board of Directors and Co-chair of the ASM Auction Committee. He holds a B.A from Carleton College and a J.D. from Boston College Law School. He is an attorney with Broadhurst Tabit LLP in Methuen. Sal’s two daughters attend ASM.

Reason for joining the Board: To be more actively involved in the community that has helped to shape my young children.
